The author of the article studies the historic process of the dynamics of the Chuvash traditional religions concentrating at two objects of their cult - Kiremet and Ierekh. He thinks that the transformation of the Chuvash image in their mass consciousness was the result of the complicated interaction of two closely contacting subjects of the historic process –the Orthodox Church and adherents of the traditional religion.
